-SALAM BROTHERS & SISTERS-
OHAYOU, KINNICHIWA, KONBANWA!
How's going folks...
I'm back with some more topics to tell...
A few hours ago I had packed my luggage n flied to...guess what, to The Land of Rising Sun...
Yup, u have guess it...I WENT TO JAPAN!!! Wohoo..!! *airfistpumped
|
AHHH...WHAT A SCENERY....
On the first day of stroll, it was a sunny day..
What I had in mind is I got to take the shinkansen (bullet train) to Harajuku, Shibuya, and Ginza....
Well, the problem is I had mistakenly bought a map land of Africa instead of Japan. How careless am I :)
But, as wise man once said, 'where there is a will, dont get urself killed', I start my journey to the street of Harajuku...
On my way, a girl came up to me and ask for direction...Sweating like a fountain, I stammered...
How can I possible help her when Im not from this part of town n whats more, IM A TOURIST...
There's something about her clothes that bothers me...Its cute not in a normal way...
If Im not mistaken Im currently in Japan not Victorian aged of England. Maybe, she is one of those people that public called CLASSIC LOLITA!!
|
CLASSIC LOLITA:
*Traditional type of clothing for Lolita
*Design is mature n business-like
*The colour focus on basic darker shade of blue, green, red and brown
*Added with a few reasonable accessories
I had never expected to bump into a walking breathing Lolita. Lolita is known for their ruffled lacy clothes with many difficult detail to the clothes n outrageous accessories...
Staring at her, I said sorry to her for be able to help but then came a grinning girl dressed in another Lolita outfit...
If Im not mistaken, she is a GOTHIC LOLITA...
GOTHIC LOLITA:
*Inspired by the aristocratic Victorian fashion era
*The name is gothic so, its all about black, bats, vampire n anything that makes them look from the dark side of world
*Ruffled or lace-trimmed knee-lenght skirt with layers of penticoat underneath
*High-socks n shiny black boots or bonnets or brooches or parasol
*Dark n elegant look
Luckily, the Gothic Lolita girl had kindly show the other girl the direction she needed n had offered me to the nearest cafe for a quick break because Im sweating harder than Usain Bolt after his run...
I ordered an occha (tea) n omurisu (omelette rice)...
Searching for a seating, I had no other choice but to sit at the nearest table that was already occupied by a girl with another bizarre clothes...
We greet each other n chat a little but with my limited n shockingly pathetic scrambled nihongo (Japanese language) we had to keep it short...
She told me that she was dress as PUNK LOLITA n was on the way to meet up with her husband's...ex-wife....awkward...
PUNK LOLITA:
*Aim for the punk look
*The style is much more casual but enough to give an impression to kill
*Usual pattern is checkered, skulls, spiders and many more
*Go hard on the crazy punk look while keeping the Lolita silhouette
Finishing my meals n bid a farewell to my first n new Punk Lolita comrade, I took a left turn n walk down the Harajuku road....
I stop by at a gift shop to buy some...well...stuff for myself because Im in Japan!!
Besides the glass door, a boy dressed as little prince sat knee high n stared to the ground...
I walk towards him n hand him a big swirled-candy bought at the gift shop...n surprisingly but not too surprisingly he took them happily n his voice was a high-pitched female voice....wait...what??
He or SHE told me that she was in KODONA outfit...
Well, that makes sense...
KODONA:
*A masculine version of lolita
*Influenced by Victorian boys clothing n usually a prince-like clothes
*Shorts are short capri-style pants that are cut off the knee, with a few lacy-edged n worn with masculine blouse
*Features added with a hat, knee socks, vest, bow tie or sharp crisp scrafs
We had a merry conversation while enjoying ourselves with the street vendor before the sheboy took me to an auditorium that filled with people dressed as normal casual clothes n....wait a second....is this a Cosplay Fair....??!!
I nearly in explosive excitement when a guy dressed in fully COSPLAY costume came up to us n welcomed us before handing a flier...
I dont care about the flier, I care about the handsome Japanese guy standing in front of me...ahh..typical fangirl...
COSPLAY:
*The concept of cosplayer came from the word costume player where the person who wear the outfit had to play or act as that character
*Inspired by popular culture from manga (Japanese comics), anime (Japanese animated series) or even video games
*A viral culture that had spread worldwide
*The costumes depends on the character u played as
*Often attract more public attention n usually people do as hobbies
After enjoying the fair n taking picture with the handsome cosplay guy (hey,he's the one that what to take picture with me. dont judge:]), I called it a day...
Heading to my hotel, I stopped by a convenient store to buy some chocolate, milk, and other stuff (its a secret)...
Standing at the open fridge, I stared at the arranged lucnhboxes n they were stared back at me, begging me buy them for dinner...
When I reached for the last grilled mackerel with tempura lunchbox, another hand reach for the same thing...
I look at the woman besides me and we stared into each others eyes, grinning widely while our hand played tug-of-war for the mackerel...
Defeated, the woman smile at me n walk away, reaching for another lunchbox n head to the counter...HAHAHA...victory!!
Frankly speaking, this girl was dressed in the weirdest clothes in my weirdest weird days of weird. I guess this is what they called GYARU or YAMANBA...
GYARU or YAMANBA:
*Their style is kind of weird
*Dark tan skins
*Bleached or colourful hair
*Bright clothes n accessories
*White or extreme makeup around the eyes
*Platform shoes is a choice
Had enough of craziness in one day, I fasten my pace to my hotel....
I had met all kinds of people n all kind of fashion in one country in one city in one day...
So...
I assume this is what they call culture shook...
JAPAN do have shocking n unique street fashion....
On my way, suddenly....
Whats going to happen next? Find out the end of my story on experiencing the day in Japan in the next upcoming post by me.
